Words from the Seattle ALPFA President

Carlos Ruiz, ALPFA Seattle Chapter President 2018

Happy 2018 ALPFAmilia,

I hope you all had a happy and healthy holiday season to end 2017, and that it has been a great start to 2018.

As you may already know, new members have joined the board and I invite you to become familiar with our 2018-19 Seattle ALPFA board.  We’ve already had multiple engaging conversations around events and initiatives for 2018 and beyond.

Our first quarterly marquee event will be Women of ALPFA hosted by Amazon; stay tuned for a “Save the Date” and more details. In addition to our other regular marquee events, Student Summit and Gala, we are in the early planning stages of more intimate and targeted events to showcase our recent partners such as: Russell Investments, Expedia, Seattle Credit Union, and Grant Thornton.

As tech companies in the Seattle area are recognizing our successful events and mission, they are reaching out  to us to learn more about ALPFA and new partnership opportunities.  Be on the look out for exciting news around partnerships in the tech space. These conversations are all leading up to our first PNW Latino Tech Summit in early 2019.

The Seattle Chapter is excited to make 2018 our most active year in the community.  We plan to engage with more students across Washington state by offering services for underserved communities and provide a network at early stages of high school. Through these initiatives, we hope to start building a pathway of opportunities for students.

We’re committed to pursue another ALPFA National Chapter of the Year Achievement award! Our members and partners make our success possible and we look forward to continuing our engagement throughout the year. The best is yet to come.

Siempre para adelante, nunca para atrás.
