Anita Prasad

As the General Manager of Treasury Capital Management at Microsoft, Anita Prasad is responsible for corporate finance, capital structure, share buybacks & dividend policy, structured investments, global cash and liquidity, treasury operations, and credit services for MS online businesses.

Anita is passionate about leveraging technology and partnering with customers and vendors to help drive revenue opportunities. She recently completed the first ever implementation of SWIFT’s ISO-XML 20022 version 2 for worldwide cash operations and implemented a SQL based BI application; both showcase MS technologies. She has led her team to winning several industry awards including Euro-Finance, Alexander Hamilton, Adam Smith, and Pinnacle awards for leveraging technology and innovative processes to address business challenges in treasury. She was named to the 2011 list of Treasury & Risk magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in Finance and 2014 Adam Smith’s Treasury Woman of the Year.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Anita served as Vice President of Treasury and Tax at LSI Logic Corporation. During her tenure Anita provided leadership in designing effective balance sheet structuring, manufacturing strategy & pricing policy, stock buyback programs, currency & interest rate risk management, M&A, domestic and off-shore portfolio management, venture portfolio, and international tax structuring.

Before corporate life, Anita was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She holds a Bachelors and Masters in Economics, an MBA in MIS, and a PhD in Finance and International Business.
